Couple of photographs were also wanted abroad, other one went to China and the other to USA. Both of the requests were nice surprises. I'll reveal the first one later when it is a more appropriate time for it and the second photo was Space Invaders wall decoration that went for the Microsoft Softwear campaign, cool.

And next, some statistics gathered over the past year:

I finally got the website up and running 13 May 2008 and since then there has been (at the time of writing this), 115608 pageloads and 18473 unique visitors. The day with most unique visitors and pageloads was 30 July with 4543 pageloads, 1668 unique visitors and 1629 of them were visiting the site for the first time. The month with most activity was September with 4973 unique visitors. The top five countries giving traffic were Finland, USA and Germany. Site has got visitors from all over the world and I'm very pleased. Firefox was the most used browser with percentage of around 71% and Internet Explorer came second with 16%.

• File list from the SQL database.


• Make an index file from about all the image files on my computer (I used cygwin so I could use those handy unix tools to generate the index file like this: find -iname '*.jpg' -print > image_file_index.txt)


• PHP script that filtered all unneeded files from the image file index.


• Another script that made a batch file with the info from previous script and that copies all the needed images to one place from around the hard drive.


• Third script that made a huge batch file that uses ImageMagick's convert to resize and make all the needed thumbnails (two different sizes) etc according to the file information from the database and the batch then moved everything to the right places.

Maybe there would have been another way of doing all that but it worked so whatever. » Assembly '08 Summer photo gallery

I got a flu on the trip and I've been a bit ill for the last few days, but it seems to be going away. I had my rotating led pov display with me at the event and it held together for the whole four days! It was on almost all the time and it actually fell of the table one time (over 1 meter drop) and it worked like before after putting the power back on. It got nicely some interest from people walking by and below is a video of what I was running on it (didn't have time to make anything else so it was only running the same thing all the time):

Edit, 24-05-2008: It seems that the capacitor actually was the only part that was broken. I cut away the wires going to it, turned the power setting to the lowest position and plugged in the power cord and it worked nicely, no smoke anywhere. It was a good thing that the flash tube and other parts are working so now I can start to look for a 400V ~1600µF capacitor to replace the broken one so I can use the light on full power again. Took some test shots and the light sensor seems to work well too and flashed the light nicely.

The screenshots looked very good and the page shows up like it should on about 90% of all the browsers (the last 10% were very old or just not compatible with standards). I also tested the page with links myself and it works well with it too ;)

The only thing missing is the photo gallery from the Photography section and I'm hoping that I'll get it done soon. I'll be keeping my own blog here and hopefully I'll post something frequently. I'm also adding all kinds of projects on the Projects section and I'll post about the updates I make there to the blog. My latest uploads to Flickr and YouTube are seen on the left side menu and the list will update automatically when I upload something to either service.
